Career Exploration using Naviance
OVERVIEW
Ann Arbor Public Schools has partnered with Naviance to provide a variety of tools for achievement through academic, career and college planning. These tools are located in Family Connection, a website for students and families to access online resources, communicate with school staff and work on college and career readiness activities with your school and family.
Getting Started Logging in to Family Connection
Students will receive their USERNAME and PASSWORD as counselors conduct classroom lessons starting in January 2018. Students log into Naviance through the Clever portal: https://clever.com/in/a2schools.
Additional Resources - Career and College Readiness
Middle school students are growing, developing their self-concept, attitudes and beliefs and beginning to apply these to the world of work. School counselors assist students with acquire knowledge and skills to make informed decisions and progress successfully. School Counselors provide opportunities for students to identify and connect their interests to postsecondary decisions. Career and college readiness programming can serve as a tool of empowerment for students.

Online resources such as bigfuture.collegeboard.org, princetonreview.com, and mymajors.com helps students explore colleges and majors.
Dreamcollegedisability.org provides resources and information for students with disabilities interested in postsecondary education.
Hacu.net lists colleges and universities identifying as Hispanic-serving institutions.
Campusprideindex.org provides college resources, information, ally groups and support for LGBTQ students.
Students can also use the online Occupational Outlook handbook to explore careers, associated majors and average salaries.
